HSBC win by 37 runs

HSBC beat RNH Group by 37 runs in a group B match in the Action Sports Indoor Cricket Tournament at Austasia Indoor Sports Complex recently. Dion Melder of HSBC was adjudged the player of the match.

The Warriors overcame Militant Lions in another match in the same group by 15 runs at the same venue where Sanjaya Gangodawila (Warriors) won the player of the match award.

Expo Lanka were beaten by 47 runs by Vinsiri Group while NTB won the game against Premaratne Brothers by 13 runs in group C. Sanjeewa Jayaratne of Vinsiri and Avishka Liyanage of NTB won the player of the match awards respectively.

The highlight of the final night was that Vinsiri recording the highest team score against Expo , 109 runs while Dinesh of Premaratne Brothers taking 25 runs against NTB as the highest individual score. Avishka Liyanage of NTB had a spell of four wickets for 10 runs and was nominated the player of the night.

The Pool Side Party that Action Sports has organized will thrill the fans on August 12 , 2011. The purpose of this event is to widen the knowledge of Indoor Cricket in Sri Lanka and the arrangements taking place to select and prepare the next National Team that will represent Sri Lanka at the Indoor Cricket World Cup in October this year in South Africa.

Action Sports organizing committee openly invite cricket fans to attend this event and it will be of great importance to their efforts and cause to promote the next sport that has a significant potential to acquire a 'World Championship' title. Music, Live Food Stalls, BBQ, and a Sport Bar including Cheer Leaders all night are some of the activities on offer the organizers said.
