Woman dies in accident

A woman (58) met with an accident at the Galigamuwa Town on the Colombo - Kandy road yesterday and died on the spot.

She was a resident of Imbulgoda in Gampaha.

The woman's husband who was driving the van was injured and admitted to the Kegalle Teaching hospital.

The vehicle was travelling from Gampaha skidded and knocked a lamp post by the side of the road.

Meanwhile, villagers nabbed a young man who removed gold bangles worn by the injured woman and hid them in his trouser pockets.
