National IT Conference 2011:

Aujas Networks Information Security Partner

Aujas Networks India has tied up with the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) to be the Information Security Partner for the forthcoming National Information Technology Conference (NITC). The conference themed "Exploiting ICT trends for collaborative development" is scheduled to be held on August 24 and 25 at Galadari Hotel Colombo.

Aujas Networks Pvt. Ltd Business Manager - Strategic Accounts Sunil Kumar said "Aujas is pleased to be associated with the Computer Society of Sri Lanka as the "Information Security Partner" in the 29th National Information Technology Conference. Information security and risk management have become critical in this era of cloud computing, mobile, virtualization and IT consumerization. The old paradigms of perimeter security are necessary, but no longer sufficient to protect the critical information. We look forward to discuss the changing paradigm of information risk management with the esteemed guests at the Conference".

The NITC organized by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is one of the top most ICT events in Sri Lanka.


FITIS donates School Computer Network

To mark Mini Infotel Kegalle:

Telecommunication and IT Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya inaugurating the St Joesph’s Girls School Kegalle Computer Centre. Principal R M C K Atapattu and FITIS officials look on.

The Federation of Information Technology Sri Lanka (FITIS) in partnership with 3M Lanka Pvt. Limited donated a fully equipped computer network infrastructure to St Joseph's Girls School Kegalle to mark the Mini Infotel-Towards a knowledge nation regional ICT exhibition.

"FITIS conducts the Mini Infotel regional ICT exhibition with the objective of promoting ICT among rural youth. Mini Infotel contributes to achieving national ICT objectives, through awareness creation.

National ICT objectives namely, 75% ICT literacy and US $ 1 billion ICT export revenue, are set out in the five year National ICT Plan by the Telecommunication and IT Ministry under the leadership of Telecommunication and IT Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and FITIS hardware Chapter President and Infotel Organizing Committee Chairman Wasantha Weerakoon.

"School ICT infrastructure development is one of our objectives in conducting Mini Infotel in regions in addition to our key objective of contributing to help achieve national ICT objectives. We take this opportunity to thanks 3M for partnering with us for this initiative. We donated three computers to Wembady Girl's School Jaffna in Feb 2010 when we conducted Mini Infotel Jaffna and hope to continue the tradition in years to come", said FITIS CEO Damith Hettihewa.


Adobe launches Creative Suite 5.5

Adobe Systems Incorporated announced the new Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 product line in Sri Lanka at a launch event held at "The Grand Ballroom", Water's Edge, Battaramulla recently.

This launch marks a significant change to Adobe's product release strategy for Creative Suite, the industry-leading design and development software for virtually every creative workflow across print, video, mobile and online media. The new Creative Suite 5.5 product line will consist of CS5.5 Design Premium Suite, CS 5.5 Web Premium Suite, CS 5.5 Production Premium Suite and an enhanced Photoshop Software Development Kit (SDK).
