SLIM introduces Diploma in Sales Management

SLIM provides an opportunity for sales persons to enhance their career development. They can now obtain a Diploma in Sales Management for the first time awarded by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

SLIM President  Thushara Perera

SLIM introduces a course in National Diploma in Sales Management (NDSM) aimed at those who are interested in acquiring specific competencies and stand out among other sales personnel.

It is ideal for those who are already in the marketing or business development force to enhance their skills in sales management.

Being a part-time programme, it is convenient to follow and it covers five modules each covering a depth of content within stipulated direct contact hours within 12 months. SLIM President, Thushara Perera said that the NDSM programme is aimed at providing a sound understanding, competent level of sales management knowledge and skills essential in planning, organizing, leading, controlling and decision-making in sales management.

"This programme will be delivered with a blended focus on academic and professional orientations with 50% of the content emphasizing on theoretical concepts and the balance 50% focussing on professional practice with project-based learning opportunities," he added.

The NDSM programme was launched at the SLIM NASCO - National Sales Congress 2011 Awards Ceremony at Cinnamon Lakeside recently.

"The one of a kind programme in Sri Lanka will fill the gap created in the market", said Perera, adding that it will be a recognized qualification in sales management with theory, practical assignment and presentation.
