Isipatana take under 14 rugby title

Isipatana ‘A’ clinched the Segment One Cup Championship of the Western Province under 14 ten-a-side tournament by beating S Thomas, Mount Lavinia ‘A’ by 7 points (one goal) to nil in the final played at the Royal Sports Complex yesterday after the scores read nil-all at half time. The solitary try for Isipatana was scored by Sumudu Anuradha which was converted by Dileeka Hettiarachchi.

Royal College ‘A’ bagged the Plate Championship by beating Wesley College by 12 points (one goal, one try) to 7 (one goal) in the final.

St. Joseph’s College ‘A’ took the Bowl Championship by beating Prince of Wales, Moratuwa by 21 points (three goals) to 5 (one try) in the final.

Isipatana also bagged the Cup Championship of segment two by beating St Peter’s by 5 points (one try) to nil in the final with Zaid Sinhawansa scoring an unconverted try.
