Police make many detections

The Nugegoda Police arrested 209 suspects in a special 24 hour operation on July 29 from 06.00am. The police arrested 100 persons with arrest warrants, 37 involved in corruption, 14 under suspicion and six other for various other charges. Police have inspected 218 houses, 1,275 vehicles and 3196 persons in the operation.

They have also detected 26 offenses connected with driving vehicles under the influence of liquor and 19 offenses connected with reckless driving.

Police have also managed to file 406 cases regarding offenses including traffic violations.

They have also seized 10,080mg of heroin, 17,250mg of banned drugs and 36,000mg of Ganja.

This operation has been conducted by the officers of the Nugegoda Police Division under the instructions of the Nugegoda Division Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deshabandu Tennakoon.
