Teacher clubs student

A 16-year-old student of Dambulla National School was assaulted by a teacher with a club. He was admitted to Dambulla base hospital for treatment.

The student, Prabash Nuwan Sadakelum, is a student of Grade 11. He said that the teacher first assaulted him using his hand and later took a club and attacked without any reason.

The student's father G.M. Priyanjana, a male nurse of Dambulla base hospital said his son was brutally assaulted by the teacher. The teacher had earlier too assaulted several students in this school. No action has been taken against him so far.

The Dambulla Police are investigating.
