President orders IGP to submit report

President Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed Inspector General of Police (IGP) N K Illangakoon to submit a report on the assault carried out on the News Editor of the Uthayan newspaper in Jaffna, at the earliest possible time, President’s Media Division Director General Bandula Jayasekera said.

The News Editor, Gn- anasundaram Kuganat- han, 59, was attacked by unidentified individuals while he was returning home after work on Friday night. He was seriously injured in the attack and admitted to the Jaffna Hospital. Hospital sources said that Kuganathan was being treated for serious injuries sustained during the attack.
