Living indigenous museum in Dambana

The government is planning to establish a living Indigenous Community
Museum in Dambana.
Under this concept action will be taken to exhibit the manner in
which incidents of historical importance are occurring live in the form
they took place in the past.
Under this project, the infrastructure facilities of a selected part
of the Dambana locality would be developed in a manner that would
highlight the traditional lifestyle of the Indigenous community.
Action will also be taken to rebuild 15 houses in the traditional
manner.
Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal forwarded by National
Heritage Minister Dr Jagath Balasooriya in this regard.
Rs 22 million is allocated from the funds received by the Ministry
for 2011. |
