First Lady returns
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa who attended a three day special
seminar on children suffering from autism returned to Sri Lanka on
Wednesday afternoon.

Bangladesh Health Minister A S M Rahul Haq was at the Hazrat
Shahjalal International Air Port, Dakha to see the first lady off before
she emplaned for her return to Sri Lanka.
The special seminar in children suffering from autism is of special
significance to Sri Lanka. The First Lady’s address to the seminar which
focused on six main factors necessary to draw the attention of the world
community towards measures that should be taken for the future welfare
of children in South Asia suffering from autism came in for special
praise from Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chairperson of
India’s National Consultative Committee Sonia Gandhi.
Earlier, prior to her departure from Bangladesh First Lady Shiranthi
Rajapaksa visited the Shisu Academy in Dhaka on an inspection tour.
The Bangladesh Ministry of Womens and Childrens Affairs organised a
reception for the First Lady at which the students at the Academy gave
her a rousing welcome with a special dance and musical performance.
