Notebook market growing

The notebook market is growing at a rapid pace while the desk top market is shrinking. Over 280,000 computers are sold and out of this 70 percent is in the notebook segment.

HP Country Manager Lackshmindra Fernando said that the notebook segment is expected to grow even further and 95 percent of the notebook market is brand new. "Unlike a Desktop computers notebooks cannot be assembly hence customers we guaranteed of a quality product," he said. "The tax incentives provided by the Government too helped the industry in a big way," he said.

HP also launched a new customers loyalty programme to enhance service delivery standards. This is the first such programme launched by a computers company in Sri Lanka.

With E Club membership HP intends to expand their relationship through identifying and pursuing new opportunities in consumer and business notebook markets. The programme will help to exchange ideas with respective segments and proactively to succeed in today's dynamic environment. This programme strives to enrich value proposition and add value to all HP notebooks. HP is very confident that customers will be benefitted through this programme by purchasing good quality products at competitive prices.

"Through E Club Membership we have created a unique, compelling and believable brand promise for all our existing and potential notebook users, delivering world class after sales support services" HP Personal System's Group Channel Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist Ginsara Dias. He said this loyalty programme would be for notebooks and would be extended to Desktop users in the future. Once customers purchase any product from the HP consumer notebook or commercial notebook range from authorized HP dealers, they can register the product online at www.hp.lk and become a member of the HP E Club. Customers will receive a loyalty card and this will be passport for superior HP support islandwide.
