Four nabbed for felling trees in forest reserve

The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested four persons who were felling trees in a forest reserve in Kilinochchi.

The STF seized a load of Palu timber worth over Rs 100,000 and four chain saws and other equipment worth more than Rs 150,000 from the suspects.

STF personnel led by Kilinochchi STF Camp Commander Chief Inspector Abeyratne arrested the four during search operation conducted between Sunday and Tuesday in the forest reserve.
