Colombo tops dengue cases

Colombo district has recorded the highest number of dengue cases,
5,124, while the Colombo Municipal Council area recorded 1,804 dengue
haemorrhagic fever cases upto July 26, a Health Ministry spokesman said.
Other parts of the Colombo district recorded 3,320 dengue cases while
Gampaha and Kalutara districts recorded 1,860 and 748 dengue cases.
Batticaloa and Ratnapura districts recorded 645 and 530 dengue cases.
During the past 26 days, 3,066 dengue cases were reported from all
parts of the country while 3,412 dengue cases and 14 deaths were
reported last month from all parts of the country, the spokesman said.
The spokesman also urged the public to keep their properties free of
dengue mosquito breeding sites.
