Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) vehicle breakdown assistance and recovery service was seen in full force in Kataragama between July 7 to 16 providing assistance to over 50 vehicle breakdowns during the Perahera season. Here the Sri Lanka Insurance team providing assistance to the public. Sri Lanka Insurance also extended the Ira Handa Pavathina Thuru personal accident cover amounting to Rs 50,000 for all pilgrims who gathered to witness the Kataragama Perahera this season.

Agrinka launches plant nutrient

Agrinka Company Pvt Limited, a producer and distributor of liquid agro compound fertilizer launched a new organic plant nutrient, a liquid based fertilizer under the Sarik brand to be distributed islandwide.

The newly introduced functional organic fertilizer includes nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium for enlarging vegetable, fruit and flower plants naturally and reducing deformity or cracking, and increasing the accumulation of nutrition. Agrinka Company said. that plants need nitrogen for leaf growth, phosphorous for root formation, stem growth, and fruiting, and potassium for flowering and plant immunity.

In the newly introduced liquid fertilizer is an active root agent, that promotes the development and extension of roots and an export type fertilizer that increases production and improves the quality of all crops in any soil.

Chandra Wijenaike no more

Eminent corporate icon and founding Chairman of the Blue Chip Central Finance Co. PLC passed away in the wee hours of yesterday after a prolonged illness.

He was also one of the founding Directors of Overseas Trust Bank, predecessor to Nations Trust Bank.

Cremation will be at the Kanatte General Cemetery at 3 pm today.
