Upahara Swara Dahana
Upahara Swara Dahana, a musical evening held to collect funds for
welfare activities will take place at the Panadura Sri Sumangala Boy's
School hall on July 30 at 6.30 pm. The event is organised by the
Panadura Central Lions Club, Panadura Central Leo Lions Club and
Panadura Central Leo Club.
Jacqueline on Rupavahini
Former Miss Sri Lanka turned Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez
will be featured on a special programme which will be telecast on
Rupavahini on July 30 at 9 pm. Her hit film Murder 2 is screening
successfully in cinemas worldwide.

Jayasekara Aponsu's comic stage drama Thatu will be staged at the
Tower Hall theatre on August 7 at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm. Aponsu take4s on
the role of Madame Elizabeth Mary. Avanthi Aponsu, Nimal Yativalla,
anusha Dissanayake, Nilmini Buwanaka, Lakshika Udari, Nadeeka
Hettiarachchi, Manori Priyangika and others comprise the cast. M Edwin
Peries is the script writer and Gamini Costa is the make up artist. The
hairstyles are by Sarath Ranaweera. M choolasinghe is the music director
while the production is handled by Jayasekara Aponsu.
 BOOK LAUNCH
Saman Mahanama Dissanayake's latest Sinhala novel Surangana Kumariya
was launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Colombo 10 on July 26 at 10
am.
Dissanayake is the author of several other books such as Duruthu
Sihinaya, Lansi Kella, Kengaru Nimnaya, Punchi Sir and Randenigala
Walauwa.
