The Traveller Global emerged champions in the Travel Trade Football Sevens to grab the 'Traveller Global Challenge Trophy' by defeating Hotel Mermaid team by six goals to nil at CCC grounds recently.

The 15th annual event powered by The Traveller Global Pvt Ltd, had been organized by Travel Trade Sports Club tournament committee.

The tournament was conducted in two stages, the first round and the second leg. Each team consisted of seven players and in the first round the players had to play for seven minutes in each half.

Semi-finals and finals were held for 10 minutes in each half and 24 contested in the entire tournament. The cup winners were awarded Rs 25,000 in addition to the trophy and the runners-up received Rs 15, 000. Mohamad Akram was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Rohana Ruwanthilaka won the award for the highest goal scorer. They were both given a cash prize of Rs 5000 each
