Sylvestrians have it easy

St Sylvester's College, Kandy registered an easy nine wicket win over St Mary's College, Kegalle in their schools under 17 division one cricket tournament match played at public grounds, Kegalle yesterday.

Having skittled out the Marians for 117, the Sylvestrians made merry to hit off the runs required for victory for the loss of just one wicket in 20 overs.

Highlight of the match was the unbroken stand of 105 for the second wicket for the Sylvestrians between Akalanka Dissanayake 35 not out (4 fours) and Umesh Hettiarachchi 67 not out (10 fours).

St Mary's College 117 all out in 43.3 overs (P D Senarath 25, Bhanuka Manulanga 43, T Wijebandara 20, Dushan Malalasena 3 for 34, Sumedha Dissanayake 3 for 18).
