Three-wheeler crashes into tractor killing girl

A 13-year-old girl was killed in a road accident on Wednesday at the Nikaweratiya-Ambanpola road, the Mahawa Police said.

The victim, A M Ruwanthi, a resident of Nikaweratiya, was in a three-wheeler when it crashed into a tractor. A group of people were pushing the tractor which had stalled by the roadside due to technical failure when this mishap occurred.

The girl died on admission to the Nikaweratiya Hospital. The driver of the three-wheeler was taken into custody.
