Navy rescues Indian trawler

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) rescued an Indian fishing Trawler on July 20 which had been marooned off the seas of Talaimannar as its propeller was entangled in a fishing net. Responding to a request made by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka the SLN took steps to tow the trawler with three fishermen onboard to International Maritime Boundary Line and hand it over to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

These fishermen were provided with food and other assistance by SLN.
