Maris Stella, Maliyadeva Girls football champions

Maris Stella College, Negombo and Maliyadeva Balika MV Kurunegala won the under 13 all island football championships for boys and girls respectively. Pordisy Tamil School in Dickoya and St. Sebastians College, Madampe were runners-up respectively while De Mazenod College, Kandana and Kavisigamuwa MV in Kurunegala clinched third spots.

The finals were held at the German-Sri Lanka Friendship Football Ground in Uyanwatta, Matara on Monday and was sponsored by Ceylon Biscuits Ltd.

Over 500 boys teams and 100 girls teams competed at the championships in the beginning and 25 boys and 23 girls teams vied for the top spots at Matara on July 16, 17 and 18.
