Power for all Uva houses under Uva Udanaya

All houses in the Uva Province will get electricity within the next three years under the Uva Udanaya electricity project, Uva Province Chief Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa said.

He said Chinese Export Import Bank had agreed to grant loans to the Uva Udanaya electricity project, and all measures are underway to provide electricity to the whole province. The Chief Minister was speaking at the agreement signing ceremony between the Power and Energy Ministry and Chinese Export Import Bank. Chinese Export Import Bank will give Rs. 3.5 billion as foreign donations and the balance will be provided by the government. Rs. 4.702 billion had been totally allocated for this electricity project.
