Having begun with one person in a joint venture with Aitken Spence
Printing, Wilkins Spence has expanded to 100 employees along with
advanced technology and know-how in the printing and packaging industry
during the past decade since its inception and today stands a strong,
virtually independent entity.
The company provides packaging solutions for retailers. In addition
to the production of packaging, boxes, labels among other products for
reputed global clients such as Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Mothercare etc in
UK, as well as local clients such as MAS, Brandix and Hirdaramani,
Wilkins Spence is also capable of carrying out packaging reengineering
with supremacy in creativity and design to make packaging better value
for money.
Taking up the initial challenge of setting up a factory in
Mattakkuliya, one of the most underdeveloped areas of the Colombo city,
the company has today not only grown from strength to strength within a
short span of time but has also marked its presence in the locality by
setting an example and contributing immensely to the community with the
creation of employment opportunities for the talented underprivileged
youth with potential for growth.
Director Overseas Business Development Head Yasantha Suriyapperuma
said, “Our biggest strength is our youthful, well-experienced and
professional staff who push boundaries to serve our customers with
style.” |
