Hemasiri elected AOC Vice President

Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee President Hemasiri Fernando was elected as the Vice President of the Asian Olympic Council during its Annual General Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan. He was elected uncontested to the post according to the SLNOC media.

Fernando is also the current Vice President of Commonwealth Games Federation and that makes him the only Sri Lankan Sports official who serves two International sports bodies at the same time.

Former SLNOC president Roy De Silva is the only Sri Lankan who has served in such a post in the Asian Olympic Council.

Fernando will hold this position for the next four years.
