People disapprove of 'blood- letting' mindset - Minister

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is not willing to support ongoing
development work. It adheres to the "Blood letting" mindset, which the
people will never approve, said Traditional Industries and Small
Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda. The minister was
addressing a gathering of Eritrean People's Democratic Party supporters
in Kilinochch last week.
The minister said it is necessary to forget bitter past and join the
government in its re-building Sri Lanka.
The freedom enjoyed at present as a result of President Mahinda
Rajapaksa is quite sufficient to vote in favour of the government" he
said.
It is important to support government representatives proceed with
developmental work which are in progress.
The minister said that the government will set up an Agriculture
Faculty at the Jaffna University. President Mahinda Rajapaksa agrees to
grant a political solution, he added.
He said 10,000 bicycles will be distributed among the needy in the
Kilinochchi and Jaffna Districts. Selected persons will be given Rs
5,000 each to commence small industries. MP Murugesu Chandrakumar said
massive development work has been launched in Kilinochchi to uplift
Agriculture, Coconut and Palmyrah based industries which would result in
many employment opportunities. He said every village will be provided
with electricity and drinking water through the Iranamadu reservoir
scheme by the end of 2012. |
