Doctor donates house to Health Ministry
A Sri Lankan doctor domiciled in the UK, yesterday donated his
property including his house valued at Rs. 15 million to the Health
Ministry for the establishment of a primary health services unit.
Dr. Gunasiri Dharmasena Sooriyabandara Pallewella, passed the
ownership of his property at Paragahena in Kapugama in the Matara
district, to the Health Ministry. He presented the relevant deed to
Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Ravindra Ruberu on Wednesday evening.
Dr. Pallewela has requested the Health Ministry to establish a
primary health services centre and community health centre where
maternal and childcare facilities and treatment of persons with diabetes
and dental problems would be available.
Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Ravindra Ruberu said that this house
would be turned into a community health services centre and a primary
health services centre in compliance with the request of Dr. Pallewella. |
