Six students to attend convention in Japan

The Education Ministry will send six students to the 23rd Asia-
Pacific Children's Convention to be held in Japan from July 15 to 27.
The Education Ministry held a special function at the Education Ministry
to present air tickets to the students. The event was held under
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena's patronage.
Children from 42 countries will participate in the convention aimed
at developing international relationships.
The Education Ministry had selected three male and three female
students to participate in the convention.
Selections were based on marks obtained at the 2010 Grade five
scholarship exam. Sanuja Edirisinghe, Yasanka Premaratne, Lakith Navodya,
Kalani Pabasara, Dharani Balendra and Fathima Haseena are to participate
in the convention as junior ambassadors.
S.M.D. Dilshan, Dhanishka Jayathilaka and T.M. Tharindu Lakmal
Muthugama who had participated as Peace Ambassadors last year and their
guardian additional deputy Director G.S.K.W. Hewage also attended the
event.
