'People should respect artistes'

"Artistes are one of the most important groups in society. They have
the ability to speak to each and everyone's heart and the ability to
make a change in society," said Mass Media and Information Minister
Keheliya Rambukwella.
Artistes should have a prominent place in society, the minister said
at a ceremony to fete Rasika Suraweeraarachchi who bagged the award for
the best script writer at the 2011 Raigam awards ceremony organized by
the Information Department.
He had worked at the 'Lakbima' newspaper as a journalist from 1998 to
2004 and entered the movie field in 2006. |
