Forty scholarships for training of SL teachers as Master Trainers
In support of the initiative taken by the Presidential Task Force on
English and IT, in introducing Spoken English, Teaching Methods and
Course Content to English Teaching, the Indian government has offered 40
scholarships for Sri Lankan teachers at the English and Foreign
Languages University (EFLU) Hyderabad, states President's Media Division
Director General Bandula Jayasekara in a release. Applications are
called from teachers of government schools under 45 years with English
as a subject for the Degree, in service instructors and trainer staff at
Regional English Support Centres.
Applications can be downloaded from the official website of the
Presidential Secretariat (www.president.gov.lk) or the official website
of the Ministry of Education (www.moe.gov.lk).
Candidates will be selected for training after an interview conducted
by the Ministry of Education. After training, the trainers should be
agreeable to be attached to any of the Teacher Centres for the
requirement of the "English as a life skill Programme".
