The Jaffna Fort is to be converted
into a tourist attraction centre when phase one of the
ongoing renovation project costing Rs 104 million is
completed shortly. Local and foreign tourists flock to
Jaffna daily. The government will make the Fort as a tourist
centre with several facilities. Economic Development
Minister Basil Rajapaksa with Minister Douglas Devananda,
Northern Province Governor G.A. Chandrasiri and Deputy
Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbullah during the inspection tour on
Sunday.
