celebrated its 10th anniversary by offering 100 beauty culture
scholarships worth Rs 10 million.
The scholarships awarded will boost the local beauty care industry
while elevating its professional beauticians to global standards.
Through this national scheme with an equitable spread across the
country, Nature’s Secrets aspires to produce capable and productive
beauticians who exhibit determination, skills and the desire to succeed
and win the world as “Sri Lankans” in the field of beauty culture,
Nature’s Beauty Creations Limited Chairman Samantha Kumarasinghe said.
In making this venture a reality, Nature’s Secrets entered into a MOU
with International Academy of Beauticians (IAB), a wholly owned Sri
Lankan entity headed by Deepika Gunasekera and Hasini Gunasekera. The
IBA will be the beauty academy for Nature’s Secrets.
Nature’s Secrets is already registered in more than 40 countries
around the world and have their own offices in Asia and Eastern Europe.
They have also established Sri Lanka’s first privately owned plant
research centre and tissue culture laboratory which has achieved

US National Centre for Natural Products Research at the University of
Mississippi, University of Florence in Italy and the Institute of
Fundamental studies in Sri Lanka.
The awarding of 100 scholarships is yet another pioneering move by
Nature’s Secrets to equip Sri Lankan beauticians with internationally
accredited and recognized qualifications in the field of beauty culture.
Over 100,000 beauticians and cosmetologists representing all ethnic
groups across the country applied for this biggest CSR activity in the
beauty culture industry.
The scholarship will be awarded in two stages to professionals
presently engaged in the industry. At the end of the course, successful
students will be awarded with the internationally recognized NVQ 4
certificate along with a certificate offered by IBA which will open new
vistas for the local beauticians in a global working environment.

Million. Marico’s portfolio of brands include Parachute, Saffola, Hair &
Care, Nihar, Mediker, Revive, HairCode, Fiancee, Caivil and Code 10.
Marico’s flagship product, Parachute Advanced Jasmine, has been
designed as a hair oil that gives the consumer the ideal blend of
nourishment and sensorials, delivered through a completely non-sticky
format and with a lingering fragrance. It has the goodness of pure
coconut oil and the essence of fragrant jasmine. It is a light oil that
can be used everyday that leaves the hair nourished, yet fragrant and
free-flowing.
Traditional hair oils, while delivering nourishment, left hair
feeling sticky and smelly. With the evolution of style and fashion,
social sanction for oily hair was rapidly on the wane. Research among
hair oil users indicated a strong level of dissatisfaction with the
odour and stickiness after using traditional hair oils.
Addressing these needs Parachute Advanced hair oil is specially made
for women who are aware of the benefits of using coconut hair oil and
the role it plays in maintaining her hair healthy and well nourished. It
is also lighter than other coconut based hair oils, which makes it ideal
for the young, appearance conscious consumer.
The Parachute Advanced range of hair oils are imported and marketed
in Sri Lanka by Ceylon & Foreign Trades PLC, a member of the Adam Group
of Companies, who are leading importer, exporters and manufacturers,
with a worldwide reach. Other brands marketed and distributed by Ceylon
