Prince of Wales College registered their third successive win when
they defeated Nalanda College, Colombo by four wickets in their under 17
inter school division one cricket tournament match. Batting first
visitors made 197 runs with Mikila Weerasinghe top scoring with 42 and
Ruchira Fernando claiming 5 for 34.
In reply Cambrians notched up the required runs for the loss of six
wickets.

A punishing knock of 55 not out by opener Bhagya Pallihawadana helped
Trinity College cruise to on easy nine wicket win over St Mary's
College, Kegalle in their schools under 17 Division cricket tournament
match played at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday.
St. Mary's 67 all out in 17.2 overs (P Senaratne 12, Madushan
Supendran 2 for 17, Praveen Weerasuriya 2 for 22, Dinal Coswatte 3 for
13, Avishka Dissanayake 2 for 10).
Trinity 68 for 1 in 5.5 overs (Bhaghya Pallihawadana 55 not out,
Dinuk Wickremanayake 13 not out).
National Tug-o-war championships on July 31
The eighth National Tug-o-war championship will be held at the
Uyanwatta ground, Matara on July 31. The weight restriction for men's
event will be 640 kgs while 560 kgs will be the maximum weight for a
women's pack.
