Special traffic scheme in Colombo today

The Police have planned to extend the existing traffic plan along Galle Road, beginning from Bambalapitiya and the traffic plan in place on R.A de Mel Mawatha to Dickman’s Road and Dickman’s Road junction.

A special traffic arrangement will be in place from 7 am to 10 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm today as a trial.

Vehicles leading to Bambalapitiya junction via Dickman’s Road junction will be turned into one way while the one way traffic flow will be introduced to vehicles coming from Vajira road junction along Duplication road to Dickman’s road junction. Vehicles coming from Dehiwala along Galle road can enter Duplication road via Vishaka Road, Vajira Road, Daisy Villa Road and Loris road. Vehicles plying along Duplication Road can enter the Galle road via Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Joseph Lane, Devos Mawatha and Dickman’s road.

There will be two way traffic flow along the Galle Road from Dickman’s road towards Wellawatte and vehicles seeking entrance to Duplication road can do so via de Krester Place, Nandana Udyana road and Lawrence road while the two way traffic plan will be in place along Dickman’s road junction towards Wellawatte. Entrance to Galle road is possible through Hildon Place, Maclius Road and Lawrence Road.
