NBEA 2011 in November:
Country marching towards economic transition

The National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) 2011 ceremony, which
is organized by the National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (NCCSL) for
the eighth consecutive year will be held on November 30, at Hilton,
Colombo.

Addressing the launch of National Business Excellence Awards 2011,
National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka President Asoka Hettigoda said
that the NBEA has been recognized as a prime awards ceremony in Sri
Lanka owing to high professional standards maintained in evaluating the
applicants.
NBEA will reward and give due recognition for the outstanding local
enterprises that maintain the excellence in every aspect in business.
Various criteria, used for the evaluation process will shape and
recognize new rules of competition enabling the judges to choose the
outstanding companies in Sri Lanka that maintain higher levels of
competition and a excellence.
"This year we expect to get more applications and a well-experienced
panel of judges will evaluate all applications," he said.
"Sri Lanka is marching towards a huge economic transition and we need
excellent companies who can compete with excellent companies in the
world. Excellence is a must and maintaining the excellence in each
business is not a onetime activity and it should be a daily activity in
all Sri Lankan companies." Hettigoda said.
Applicants for the awards will be grouped into four major categories
such as extra large, large , medium and small and 81 awards will be
presented at NBEA 2011. Awards will comprise sub awards and sector
awards. |
