Coin for People's Bank 50

The People's Bank (PB) completes 50 years of operation today. To mark this occasion the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) will issue a selective gold plated, frosted proof, crown size, silver commemorative coin in the denomination of Rs 1,000.

The coin will be officially handed over to Finance Minister President Mahinda Rajapaksa by CBSL Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal today.

The coin is a limited issue of 2,300 coins and a coin will be sold at Rs 8,000 through the counters at the CBSL Head Office, 30, Janadhipathi Mawatha Colombo and CBSL Money Museum at Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya and the People's Bank.
