Cameron’s close ally found dead

UK: Christopher Shale, the British Prime Minister’s close ally and his Witney constituency’s chairperson, has been found dead in a portable toilet at Glastonbury Festival.

The festival organizer said he was told it had been suicide, but police said more investigation was needed.

Just hours before his death, the chairman had been quoted as saying he saw “no reason” to join the party. He had also criticised his association’s strategies for fundraising, saying “Over the years we have come across as graceless, voracious, crass, always on the take.”

He had also said that the reason for which people are not willing to join the Conservatives was because they “think we’ll beg and steal from them. And they’re right.” David Cameron expressed his sadness over the loss of his ally and said he was “devastated to hear the news about Christopher…A big rock in my life has suddenly been rolled away.”

The 56-year-old father’s body was found in the VIP area. There are contradictory claims as to the cause of his death, some of which claim sudden heart attack as the reason of death.

A police cordon is deployed around the backstage area where Shale’s body was found in order to investigate the cause of his death.
