‘So-called C 4 journalist, a terrorist’

The so-called ‘journalist’ or announcer who appeared in the Channel 4 video was not a journalist or an announcer because she took part in massacres carried out by the LTTE at Kebithigollewa, Child Development and Women’s Empowerment Minister Tissa Karaliyedda told the Daily News.

Minister Karaliyedda said that the woman was a member of the LTTE cadre which carried out massacres at Kebithigollewa when terrorism existed in the country.

She was a shame to the entire female population because she took part in killing innocent women and children.

The LTTE also recruited a large number of child soldiers below 18 years.

“Sri Lankan women who belong to all ethnicities enjoy all rights and freedom. I thank Major General Shavendra Silva for revealing the truth about the Channel 4 video.

“Now the whole world will understand the real identity of this fake ‘journalist’,” Minister Karaliyedda said.

The Sri Lankan government was unable to provide facilities to the North and East women who headed households due to terrorism as nobody was able to reach those areas. The government is formulating a plan to assist women who head households in these areas, Minister Karaliyedda added.
