She elephant dies at orphanage

The she elephant Anuradha died at the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala yesterday. She had been receiving treatment for about three months at the orphanage.

The she elephant had been suffering from Papilloma virus for about an year. Veterinary surgeons at the Pinnawala elephant orphanage said Anuradha's front left leg was broken as a result of an attack by other elephants at the orphanage.
