Leopards contain goal-shy Bay

Bay United were held 0-0 at home by Black Leopards on Wednesday in the first leg of a play-off to decide who replaces Vasco da Gama in the South African Premiership next season.

Scoring is a major problem for Port Elizabeth-based Bay as this was their fourth goalless draw in five play-off games as they attempt to reach the richest national football championship on the continent.

Whichever club emerges victorious from the return match in north-east town Tshifulanani on Saturday will be sure to pocket more than two million dollars from the 2011-2012 Premiership season.

South African FA Cup runners-up Leopards are hoping it will be third time lucky when it comes to promotion after losing the last two finals against Mpumalanga Black Aces and Vasco. JOHANNESBURG, AFP
