Second leadership training programme begins today

The leadership and positive thinking training programme for the second batch of university entrants will commence today islandwide at 28 centres with the participation of 10,225 students, Higher Education Ministry Secretary Dr Sunil Navaratne told the Daily News yesterday.

He said that the programme will continue until July 7. He observed that the feedback of the first batch was positive and the participants overwhelmingly praised the training they received.

He noted that as the demand for the training course is too high, the ministry with its limited resources is facing difficulties to cater to these demands.

He observed that most of the students selected for the second batch have reported to their respective centres by yesterday afternoon.

The cost of the programme is expected to be around Rs 100 million for the second batch.
