Mahiyangana-Vavunativu electricity project underway

Preliminary work on the Mahiyangana-Vavunativu electricity line laying project which is being carried out under the Northern and Eastern Electricity Distribution Development Programme, is being implemented at present.

The Ceylon Electricity Board officials concerned are currently interacting with the people for acquiring land necessary for the project.

Eastern provincial areas are to be provided with electricity through the proposed Mahiyanganaya-Vavunativu electricity line able to transmit a high volume of electricity obtained from the CEB Grid.
