One dead, 24 injured in bus - container mishap

One person died and 24 were injured when a bus travelling from Anuradhapura after a pilgrimage collided head on with a container near the Thulhiriya Courts on the Ambepussa-Kurunegala road at about 3.15 p.m. yesterday.

Thirty one devotees who were injured were admitted to the Alawwa rural hospital. Twenty one devotees who were seriously injured were later transferred to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.
