Special programme to develop Mihintale

Agrarian Services and Wildlife Minister S.M. Chandrasena yesterday
said that the government has paid special attention to develop the
Mihintale Sacred area.
Minister Chandrasena said that a special programme will be
implemented to develop the Mihintale Sacred Area on a directive of the
President.
He was speaking at the opening of the Mihintale Aloka Pooja organized
by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited for the 49th year in
succession, in association with the Ceylon Electricity Board and Abans
Limited yesterday - the final day of the Aloka Pooja.
The minister lauded the services of ANCL for organizing the Aloka
Pooja for the 49th occasion. Chief Incumbent of Mihintale Rajamaha
Viharaya, Ven. Namalwewe Sri Rathanasara Thera delivered the Anusasana
while Ven. Walahahenguwene Dhammarathana Thera administered Pansil. ANCL
Director Editorial Seelarathna Senerath was also present. |
