Bourse begins in negative territory
Colombo stocks ended in a negative territory with both benchmark
indices recording substantial losses yesterday. ASI lost 45.06 points
(-0.62 percent) to close at 7,186.86 while liquid MPI closed at
6,714.82, a dip of 61.06 points (-0.9 percent).
Market turnover was Rs 2.2 billion.
Market RSI based on All Share Index further dropped to 34.4 which is
the lowest in six months.
Expolanka Holdings debuted on the bourse yesterday and recorded the
top turnover with high investor interest. EXPO traded at a high of Rs
15.00 and closed at 14.30, up Rs 0.30 (+2.14 percent). Further, retail
investor favourite Blue Diamonds Jewellery, Panasian Power and PC House
made notable contributions to the daily turnover and attracted investor
concern.
Bimputh Lanka Investments which listed in the CSE yesterday by an
Introduction was the top gainer of the day. Only one transaction was
executed during the day where 1,000 shares traded at Rs 25.00 per share.
The counter closed at Rs 25.00, up Rs 14.40 (+135.85 percent).
