Iran, Russia determined to boost ties

Iran: Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Russia in various fields.

Salehi said the two countries plan to host a joint commission of economic affairs in the near future in a bid to enhance mutual cooperation in economic fields.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Communications Minister Igor Shchegolev in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including technology, tourism and economy, and agreed that the current level of bilateral trade between the two countries has room for growth.

Iran and Russia enjoy friendly ties and have signed numerous agreements in various fields in recent years.
