CR face tough task against Police

The Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club which has been stricken by injuries will have the tough task of overcoming Sri Lanka Police in their Caltex ‘A’ Division League Rugby match at Police Park today.

The Red Shirts who scored an unimpressive 14-8 win over CH and FC in their opening match will miss the services of Skipper Dushanth Lewke, prop Henry Terrence, Centre Ashan de Costa, Flanker Shero Fernando and centre Mohamed Sheriff and the Policemen will go all out to topple the Longden Place Club today.

The policemen led by flanker T D Seneviratne will rely on their power-packed forwards Hettiarachchi, Archarige Dinesh Kumara, Gonawela Champika Thushara and Skipper Seneviratne to deliver the goods in today’s outing.

Having a strong back division CR will hope to run the ball at every opportunity as they have some hard runners in Shabbir Mohamed, Lasintha de Costa and Mushin Faleel in addition to an attacking full back in Nuwan Chamara.

Havelocks – Army:

Havelocks Sports Club who went down fighting to mightily Kandy SC last week (13-18) should get the better of Sri Lanka Army at Havelock Park today.

The Park Club bolstered by the presence of two foreigners Atella Uaisele and centre. Angsta Sae should give a dazzling display today and register their first win.
