Two new SC judges

The Parliament Council yesterday approved the names of Court of Appeal President Sathya K Hettige PC and Solicitor General Priyasad Dep as Supreme Court judges while Supreme Court Judge R A Nimal Amaratunga was nominated to the Judicial Services Commission.

The Council arrived at this decision when it met at the Parliament complex yesterday. Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa presided. According to Council member A H M Azwer MP the names of nominees approved by the Council were sent to President Mahinda Rajapaksa for his approval yesterday.
