Development projects bring relief to people

Nearly 80 percent of Sri Lanka's population live in rural areas and the development of rural roads in the provinces would help them to overcome many of their daily problems, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said.

The minister was addressing a meeting after inaugurating the carpeting of roads belonging to the Central Provincial Council in the Udu Dumbara, Kundasale, Senkadagala, Harispattuwa and Nawalapitiya electorates on Sunday. Nearly 300.73 kms of roadways would be carpeted under 76 projects.
