English miracle downs Lankans

It is said that the days of miracles are not yet over, not even in cricket. And this was proved by the unbelievable manner in which the Sri Lankans tumbled to defeat by an innings and 14 runs in the First Npower Test here at the Swalec Stadium, today. The Sri Lankans needing 97 runs to make England bat again were bowed out for 82.

Maxwell denies allegations

President of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association Maxwell de Silva yesterday rubbished all allegations directed on his officials as false as they look forward towards hosting a successful Davis Cup tournament in Colombo next month. The 57 year old veteran administrator and the present General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee believe that his team has the courage to march forward despite many challenges and the baseless allegations they are faced with.
