President opens Mihindu Seth Medura
The Mihindu Seth Medura built at Attidiya under the guidance of
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to provide care and protection to
disabled War Heroes was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday
morning.
The President after unveiling the commemorative plaque registered
Major M S Ibrahim as the frist residential patient admitted to the
facility and thereafter went round on an inspection tour of the
facility.
The Mihindu Seth Medura which can cater to 50 disabled War Heroes was
built at a cost of Rs 140 million from contributions made by local and
foreign donors. It is replete with facilities needed for disabled War
Heroes to spend their future lives with minimum disabilities and
physical, mental and spiritual care and protection. |
