The Community Based Water Supply projects have a large number of
female participants, said Water Supply and Drainage Board Minister
Dinesh Gunawardana speaking at the launching of the website
www.cwtintelligentlife.lk functioning in both Sinhala and English, at
the ministry premises recently. The site will function in Tamil soon.
Around 3,500 community based water supply projects have been
implemented throughout the country where over 3.4 million people are
provided water.
The number of beneficiaries of these projects are higher than the
number of consumers who are provided water from the National Water
Supply and Drainage Board, said the minister.
This website was designed by the Intelligent Life Software institute
free of charge. It provides many services to water consumers throughout
the country. Upon a request by the minister, the institute will
establish another facility to provide this service through mobile
phones. According to the minister, this website enables visitors to
convey their problems to the authority and to let them know whether
their problems have been solved.
